Listen to Your Heart Song: An Afternoon Retreat in Living Medicine
Saturday, November 7 · 1:00–5:00 pm
Sonoran University of Health Sciences, 2140 E Broadway Rd, Tempe, AZ 85282
Dr. Gladys built her life’s work on five simple words: Life, Love, Laughter, Labor, and Listening.
This November, we’re devoting an afternoon to the 5L’s, starting with Listening with Love.
Harold Moses, PhDE, whose work bridges music, vibration, and healing, will guide us alongside vocalist Renee Morgan Brooks. We will spend four unhurried hours exploring how sound and resonance open the heart to its own wisdom. We’ll start by listening: to the breath that carries life through us, and to the song already living in each of us. From there, voices join. You’ll feel the love that rises when many voices find a common chord, the laughter that comes naturally when people sing together, and the quiet, rewarding labor of tuning in and staying present. You’ll leave with simple practices to carry that attentiveness into your everyday life.
All are welcome, whatever your musical background. Come curious, come as you are, and invite a friend to join you.
Joining from afar? A virtual ticket brings the afternoon to you, with every invitation to sing along from home
General admission is $25. If you’d like to help us carry this work forward, Supporter ($75) and Sustainer ($150) tickets include a gift to the Foundation.
We’d love to sing with you.
Together, Be Glad.

Harold Grandstaff Moses, PhD
Harold Moses is a composer, violist, pianist, and choir director who has devoted his life to exploring music as the meeting place of science and spirit. He is co-founder and Artistic Director of the Institute of Harmonic Science and founder of Higher Vibrations Music, where his Monday night improvised singing sessions welcome voices of every kind. For a decade, he improvised music for patients and caregivers at Cancer Treatment Centers of America, matching each person’s vibration in sound. His research into the “heart note,” a tone that resonates over the heart for most people, shapes the experiences he leads today. Harold trained at the Curtis Institute of Music and served as Assistant Principal Violist of the Denver Symphony Orchestra.
Renee Morgan Brooks
Renee Morgan Brooks is one of Dr. Gladys’s favorite singers, and a voice she called an honor to know. Renee’s presence is palpable, creating a sacred space for any gathering.
