Bringing Neuroscience Into Our Homes And Backyards

Greg Gage is a neuroscientist who is dedicated to bringing neuroscience into our homes and backyards.  He wants to get kids as young as in the Fifth grade to learn neuroscience in the classrooms.  So, he created a project called Backyard Brains that is dedicated to getting young people to see the world around them differently.  It is an organization that teaches kids and amateurs neuroscience through hands-on experiments.  In the fascination video below, he demonstrates how he teaches the kids.

In another fascinating Ted Talk below, Dr. Gage hooks a Venus Flytrap to EKG equipment and demonstrates how the plant uses electrical signals to “convey information, prompt movement, and even to count.”
